383 Stroker questions

Hey Guys,
Ive got a 350 block laying around, and decided to make it a stroker engine.
Id like 400 HP as a final result. My questions are:

-Best to buy a stroker kit of of jegs or summit? Or make my own.
-I would like to purchase a set of heads. Is there a combo that best suits the HP range I'm looking for?
-Cam duration? (does it matter with the set of heads that I buy?)
I already have a suitable intake manifold. (RPM Performer Air Gap)
- The carb I have is a Holley 650 DP. Will that accommodate the air/fuel ratio with the above specs?

The car its going in is a 72 chevelle, 3.73 gears with a pozzi rear end. The tranny is a Turbo 400. I may eventually want to swap a muncie 4 speed...

Thanks for the help in advance.

Mike

The 650 is a very minimal carb size.I would buy my own internals as I wanted them.
kits are way cheaper.
383 can be built dirt cheap now.
I only build quality for my own use,,,you decide.
hint:
good quality aluminum heads that flow 250 cfm, small hydraulic roller cam.10:1 cr your manifold and carb and hopefully you have good headers and exhaust already

I dont think headers will be an issue. As of now, they are long tube headers with 2 3/4 exhaust pipes and 40 series flow masters.

Ill do some more research and decide from there.

Thanks,
Mike
