Are you talking about building or buying the 383?

The zz430 is nice, but if you build a 383 you can get much more for your money.

If you don't have a budget, go with the crate motor.

mild 383 will run low 13s.bigger is better.3.73 gears is a great start and 2400 stall is better for a big engine than a small engine.

I actually have THREE ... of the limited edition ZZ430's

There was only 430 of these engines made by Chevrolet. Each one has it's own serial number. I have number #430 ... the very last one made. Each one has the ZZ430 valve covers, special air cleaner and you get a special numbered jacket and hat with each engine.



#216 is in my 32 3W coupe and #430 is in my roadster
