385 Gu Ru HELP.

My '73 Murcury 429 - Intake Gaskets Seam to be a problem, My aluminum Tunnel Ram. don't fit Exactly. Did some 429s need a tin baffle. with gaskets on each side? The Block & Heads were reserfaced. The deck highth Varried; Through the years; could that be the problem?

Assuming that your intake wasn't cut for a radical engine...Yes there are a couple of different intake gaskets available for the 429-460 engine. The stocker type has a sheet metal tray with paper port gaskrts. The High Perf sets are available with no tin. Just the head and end rail seals.

Intake Gaskets 429/460 Ford

I HAVE THE C.J. SET. The vertical bolts seam fine; the angle bolts don't tighten to the gasket like they should - there is a gap, when quite tight.

I don't want to make the holes any bigger; unless I have to.

I think I'd rather do it with gaskets. [ End Rubber ones look good. ]
