388 stroker anyone?
I am building a 388 stroker. Its pretty much together. I had quite a few clearance problems and because its a 1 piece main seal 89 block the balancing was a *%#th.
Anyone know what kind of power I might be making its going in a 68 chevelle.
89 350 Roller
Eagle 3.75 crank
.060 Hyp pistons Fed Mugal (sp)
Cam 230/230 .56x/109 LSA
Victor Jr Intake w/2" spacer
GM ignition box the heavy duty one "Blue"
soft touch rev limiter
MSD adjustable spark timing control
Mallory dual point distributor
Holley 750 double pumper carb
Stock heads with minor port work 2.02 valves nothing too special.
Double Roller timing chain
LT headers / flowmaster mufflers new that were on the car when I got it.
3.73 gears/ 12 bolt.
Also any tips or bolt ons you can think of to make it faster
Also does anyone have a clue what a 68 chevelle weighs? I cant find that info anywhere.
I am not an old school engine person. This is the most involved I have been in one. I am pretty straight with my LS1 thanks to forums like this one so please excuse if I get things a little mixed up. I am more excited about this project than the SS!
I am really excited I hope it can beat my 2000 SS. it has ~ 430rwhp. from a lot of work and one monster cam. I hope it will dip into the 11s at least if it cant get 11.5s.
Any input would be appreciated. I see a lot of dyno and times from a 383 but what about the 388?
