Looks sweet- congratulations! Most guys 'cheat' and use the metallic blue on their engine where it wasn't original (and it smells SO GOOD!)- you're a trend breaker!

I need to send you a head stud w/the stand-off for the dipstick...

Thank you Cobalt. The blue I used is the correct color for a 64. The valve covers arent correct, nor is the timing cover etc. I have all the correct stuff, (covers -intake - carb etc) but wanted to run the later w/pump with 11 bolts. Also a quadrajet was desired, hence the big aluminum intake.
I fabbed a little bracket for the dipstick tube. The reason being is the upper tube is for an A/C car of newer vintage.
Not a original appearing 64 but it runs like it had wheaties for breakfast.
I have a couple of engines worth of covers and brackets, pulleys bolts etc.
I also have another engine complete and a very good virgin 400 block. I am hoarding LOL

And so it is... I had thought the metallic was used on all the 389s but I see where that blue began in '66- my mistake.

Good to hoard now- it seems like yesterday that I could go to any JY and buy a few Q-jets, 4-pin HEIs were a dime a dozen and F-bodies were everywhere for a few hundred dollars. *Sigh*
