Just curious, Why not a FE 390, 410, or 428? Or if you get really lucky, a 406, or 427 FE engine?

ive built several cheap 393 windsors using truck rods, KB 302 pistons and a scat cast crank that will be up to the task of truck duty.... you might want to use dish pistons with 64cc chamber heads as flat tops in a 393 build alot of compression..

you can also use the factory castings if your not going to be turning alot of RPM I port small block ford castings for 325$ a pair that will run well on a 393 but will not make power up high 5500 RPM is max
