3932388 327 or 350

i got a core short block just block,crank,rods,pistons the casting number is 3932388 mortech said it was a 327 or 350 how do i tell the diffrance

Crank will have a stroke of 3.25 inches for a 327 and 3.48 for a 350. Keep in mind that measuring from the centerline of the crank mains to the centerline of a rod journal will be 1/2 the stroke.

if its a 4 bolt main its a 350, if its a 2 bolt main it can be either and you will need to measure crank.

The pistons for the 327 will have a longer compression height (distance from the center of the wristpin bore to the top of the piston) if there is a part number on the piston you could check that and it will tell you what it is for.

ya i droped the pan and it was a 2 bolt main. what about crank #'s can they be looked up 3932442

3932442..267,305,350..cast...medium journal...3.48" stroke

Should be a 350 with a 442 crank.

Yep that 442 is an extremely common 3.48 stroke crank.
