Personally, it wouldn't make a lot of difference to me whether it was internally or externally balanced, as long as it ran smoothly and the guys I was buying the components from were reputable and could be depended upon to stick to their warranty. Will this include an 8" damper?

427/396 balancing
Thanks again techinspector01
I agree with you, but I am not a professional. BUT..! it only makes sense if EVERYTHING was balanced you would be good to go. Once that high lift large overlap Lunati cam goes in there shes gonna rock and roll some anyway. When your sitting a t a light and that antenna is whipping back and forth 6" ya know your cooking. |

"large overlap Lunati cam"
Get everything worked out with the tech guys at Lunati so that the intake valve closing event is matched to the static compression ratio of the motor so that you have the correct cylinder pressure to run on pump gas. |

To answer your original question it shoud be internally balanced. My little 396 is balanced w/ solid roller .680 lift doesnt see the street but at about 1400 idle she doesnt shake much and at WOT she is as smooth as silk. This one gets shifted about 7800 when I'm not having shifter cable issues...lol For what it is the 396 is tough
