Yes like a Comp Cams Magnum Roller tip rocker arm#1411-16 (the 16 means 16 of them in the kit) good for 396/427/454.

Yes and they are easy to find, popular parts. Do 1 more thing if you can get a piston # off the top of it and see if you can run the # on line to make sure with the chamber size that compression is to high. If it is you can easily find a bit thicker head gasket to lower it a bit. Any idea from when you got the motor, invioces or talk to you owned it last, anything will help.

By the way, the roller tip rockers will clear the stock valve covers while full roller type won't, so no problems.

I got it from a farmer who had been using it in his truck for like 20 years and he pulled it out of a wrecked nova and rebuilt it.

I'll pull the pistons in a couple days to get the numbers off of them.....I definitely need to be able to run the short valve covers because of clearance with the AC compressor.

Well your good on the low valve covers with the roller tips anyway. The roller rockers are only $166. in Edmonton Alberta Canada, so should be comparable anywhere else. Good for an extra approx 15hp with a bit better gas mileage due to less friction on the valve stem, plus revs a bit quicker too.

I'll have to read up more on roller rockers. I don't know much about them.

I looked up that cam, is there any reason i wouldn't want to use the 7161 Edelbrock cam?

Also, would there be any benefit to running a solid cam and lifters? I thought I heard there was no breakin needed for those or maybe it was the roller.
