Im starting a 65 C10 came with this engine believed to have come out a corvette.The numbers on the block above flywheel is 3970010 and the nunbers on right front of engine is 15b474835 k12 02 gmj can anyone tell me what these numbers mean please?

If the suffix "GMJ" is correct, it's not showing up so could be a truck application. The numbers before the suffix is a date code (day and month), the other string is a partial VIN of the original vehicle the block was installed in.

The "010" casting number is a nominal 4" bore large journal SBC block.

3970010 is a common casting # for a 350

In the numbers 15b474835
The "1" stands for Chevy
The "5" stands for 1975
The "B" stands for Baltimore

The last six numbers are a part of the vehicle VIN. These numbers match what is on the vehicle when it was built at the factory, hence #'s matching.

I'm not sure about the rest of the numbers & letters
