3970044 block ID number

Hi, first time on site. My son is trying to identify his engine he bought to rebuild. I have read many postings on the net with the same problem we have. The block casting number (drivers rear at back of block) is 3970044. No one seems to think this correct, but that is what it is. We do not know what the engine came out of. The number on the passenger side of engine on the pad are 14L192810 then 10219CMA. I believe it is a 350. Can anyone help with the engine/block info?
Thanks

Might be a 350 from a '73-'74 Chevy van. Post the head casting numbers.

weather

I will, but we are having a small blizzard today and tomorrow, so it will be awhile.
I really appreciate the help, how did you come up with the van thing?
Thanks,
Dan

I believe this has been covered, at least the suffix- 3970044 block ID number

I cannot say why the 044 c/n was omitted from the data bases, but y'all aren't the only ones w/a 'confirmed' 044 block.
