4.11 on my 1978
I wanted to know if any of you could help me out i have a 1978 chevy impala wagon with a 305. i wanna put 4.11's in the rearend but i dont know what type of rearend i have how would i go about finding this out also would i need to make it so it was posi befor i was able to put on my 4.11 i have very little money to do this so if u know a cheap way please help me out thanks very much

What are you planning to do with it? Either way if your 305 is stock you will be turning high rpms on the highway and you most likely be topping out early at the strip. Some 3.55 to 3.73 would be alot more driveable. If you upgrade to a new motor and use it at the strip and a weekend cruise then the 4.11 would be ok.
