Hotrodders.com has a wanted classified ad section ... try it
and by the way ... Ford did not make any 4.11 rear gears for a 8 inch Ford ... if you find some ... they will be aftermarket

True ... and I ONLY SAID they all are after market ... so you would not be crawling around under every old Falcon, Mustang and such looking for one and not ever finding one ... originally from FOMOCO ...

Why 8" and not 9"? You are far more likely to find what you need in a 9" than an 8".

Ford did put a 4.10 or 4.11 (not sure of the ratio) in a 8" under the HP289 Mustangs but good luck at finding one. You will have to go aftermarket if you want that ratio in the Ford 8" rearend.

By all reports ... the HP Mustangs came with a 9 inch ...
Fomoco parts catalogs from back then do not show a ratio of more than 3.80 for the 8 inch series ...
Whenever the Horsepower got halfway serious ... Ford went to the 9 inch. Even in the Fairlanes, Comets, Cougars and Mustangs ... because of warranty concerns.

I knew a guy way back when who owned a 1967 CS HP289 Mustang and it only had a 8" with 4.10 or 4.11 rearend ratio. He said he bought it that way from the factory. I didn't think Ford put the 9" behind any of the Non-Shelby Mustangs or Fairlanes until they stepped up to the 390 in 66-67. I know the Shelby Mustangs had a 9" but I don't think any of the plain jane HP289's did. Somebody who is alittle more knowlegeable about Fords would know, maybe they will let you know.

The 271 HP HiPo Mustangs and Fairlanes had the 9 inch

The 3 old Ford parts catalogs PLUS the Hollanders I have ... all say no original factory Ford gears lower than a 3.80 for a 8 inch. I myself have pulled close to 75 to 100 8 inch Ford rears ... and never ever saw a 3.80

When dealing with the 8 inch Ford
3.40 and 3.55 are somewhat easy to find.
3.50 is available every now and then ...
Posi rears are very scare ...
Most are 2.79
