motor mounts

there is a article on Rodster.com about swapping a V6 for a V8. they use the same mount for the v8 as as used for the v6. check this article

The mounts themselves are the same but the frame brackets are different. The mount bosses on the 4.3 block are positioned farther back on the 4.3 than on the V-8's. I was going to go the opposite direction on an '89 a few years back. Check the truck boards, you nmight be able to find someone doing the V-6 to V-8 swap that will trade you brackets ot that has just done it and wil make you a deal. They should be easy to find in the salvage yards that don't use a torch too, most guys want the V-8 brackets.

you will need to change the frame AND engine mounts to the 4.3L ones, you will need to use a 4.3L TBI unit, Shroud for rad needs to be changed, and you should get a tune for the computer but a STOCK TBI 4.3L will run fine on a 350 tune.

Also, you should get a 4.3L torque convertor.

When I was rounding up parts for my swap the parts book I checked said mounts were the same. I take it the book was wrong? Good call on the other stuff......

i went from a 4.3L to a 350 in my 1994. the 4.3L actualley had opposite mounts, Clam-shells on the frame, rubber mounts on the block.
