4.3 Chevy in a f-100 (What needs to be done?)

I'll get right to it. I want to put a 04 4.3 in my 54 F-100 it's connected to a 4L60E. My question is has anyone here done it before? And will I have to beat the hell out of my fire wall? I don't have the engine yet or I would just measure it. I don't want to have to cut , beat the fire wall and this is the only thing keeping me from getting the engine. If you've done this switch before any insight would be helpful. Thanks

From the transmission to engine mounting face forward, the 4.3 is the same as a 350. It just doesn,t go as far forward. There is no reason to have to bang up the firewall except possibly where the hei distriutor is. Check out any old Ford with any old small block and the relationship is the same. (more room at the rad)
