4.56 speedo gear

Is it true that you cant get a transmission speedo gear at that ratio?

no...4.56 gears speedo gears are available for some tranny's

yes....they are not available for every tranny ever built and getting harder to find for some

from memory (LOL!)....1970 Cobra Jet R code "drag pack equipped" factory stock was 4.56 gears....with a correct factory speedo gear

I do not think so ... for a 4.56
I had a Chevelle and a Camaro with 4.10 gears and both had a ratio adapter.

Most any speedometer shop has them or can get them. Lots of them on eBay too ...

Depends on your tire diameter. According to the Novaresource site, gears are available for 4.56 gears and 26.8" tires. A 7-tooth drive gear and a 24-tooth driven gear will make that combo work. Tires smaller than 26.8" would make the speedo read faster than actual speed, and vice-versa.

That assumes a Chevy-type T-350 speedo gear (3/4" diameter driven gear). A BOP-type T-350 has a larger speedo gear, and much wider coverage of ratios.
