4 door to 2 door

Hi , Im new at this. I am converting my 1951 Chevy 4 door to a 2 door. I bought 2 - 2 dr doors, removed the 2 doors on the drivers side and cut the cener post out. I bolted the drivers 2dr door on and now I have to relocate the center post 7.5 inches back because the differnce between the old 4 dr drivers door is 7.5 inches smaller in lenth then the new 2 dr door. Has anyone else done this before?

re: 4 door to 2 door

I have a '51 Fleetline 4dr, that I'm restoring/ modding a little. I'v heard of it but with somthing like that, that can be got in a 2dr fairly cheap, it just makes more sense to buy a 2dr, even a bel air hardtop from '51-'52 can be got around a grand and a half, if you arleady have the 4dr cut up, then try to put it back if not, it's not gonna be 2 expensive
