I am the very proud owner of a 66 chev 4-door and am writing to make a point for all of the four door guys out there. today I was talking to a fellow rodder at a local car show and he asked me why I was doing up a four door well I'll tell you why. 4-doors are cool. For all you guys who build your own cars, its a lot more of a challenge to build a killer 4-door than a "super sport" or GT sport coupe. and its something that you can be truly proud of. Instead many of you buy cars that were made by the factory to be sporty. Also I would like to add that it takes a lot more effort to make a four door tear up the track. In short I would just like to say respect the four door lovers as we respect you two door fans out there, and next time you see an excelent four door think of the time effort and love the builder put in as opposed to the body style you dont like.
Thanks for reading hoe I enlightened some of you.

yea I think 4 doors are cool too... when I get done with my truck (maybe trucks - if I do the 4 door project
) then I want to do a 4 door sedan, late 30's chevy, for our family traveler.

You know when I was a kid 4 doors were not cool. When I was 14 my mother spoted a 57 chevy for 200 bucks it was mostly there but needed a lot of work. It was the only car my parents ever offered to buy me. I turned it down because it was a four door. I have kicked myself daily ever since. I have now owned 7 vehicles since then. 2 of these were trucks and only one of the 5 was a 2 door. My 57 now is a 4 door. Why a four door? Economics, ease of pasenger entry, uniqueness. 4 doors are cool now. Mostly because the 2 doors are becoming too hard to find or too expensive. Do up the 4 door and be proud.

Hellow out their,4doors forever, more and more people are getting into them now, at least four! They have the same body syle, a lot cheaper, and with out a'dout they are rare. I think because they were tourched, crashed,or junked,a long time ago. Besides if people can't like what you have done, then they can kiss our blanks!!! I have a 69 camaro, and a 67 4 door chevy2. After a couple of years of hard work that has paid off, (bodywork, paint, potent alum. head smallblock with giggle juice, trans, chrome, and lots of detailed work) I am to say the least very, very proud of what i have done! People do a lot of looking, and some even say (cool). We even get tropies at car shows!!! So lets get them going, and show them off.

personally don't care for them, but your car looks freakin great! must be the side moulding on it or something. i have been looking at a 57 ford 4 door wagon. yeah good luck finding a 2 door 50's ride, i guess you don't really have a choice if you want a particular car either 4 door or pay big bucks. you notice the 4 doors prices are on the way up. suicide doors on a shoe? maybe. it works fine for me as far as cruisers go, but for the hot rod (spell that drag car) look, it would pretty much have to be a 2 door. i have a 2 door 66 tempest, i feel bad enough that it's not a GTO, so there's no way in the world i would ever buy a 4 door, and i think my car is bout the most beautiful car ever built! still, i like your ride, and i would jump up and down if i could find $1000 to buy that 4-door 57 wagon, so i'd have to say it's all in the eye of the beholder. maybe you gotta carload of kids to pack around! by the way that wagon i like has great gold side moulding too, so that could be why. hey, a girl doesn't have to be a supermodel to marry her so...
like i've heard everybody say, and i mean from here to the editors of pop. hot rodding, Hot Rod, etc., You are the one driving it so screw whatever anybody else says. (boy this is way too long.) |
