Here's a short piece I wrote that may help. Your MIG should work just fine. I use a 200 amp Lincoln, but never have it cranked up for welding such as this.

Another thing to consider is some adjustable jack stands... I use them for all my suspension work... I got mine from Camping World but you can probably get them anywhere...
The problem with "regular" jackstands it always seems to me I need that "in between" spot they don't have.... http://www.campingworld.com/browse/p...33&prodID=1714 These allow you to adjust in small amounts... Good Luck! Aaron |
