4 speed shifter opinion

like to know some views on any 4 speed shifters for munci or richmand trans or for any other 4 speed trans thats excellent for the drag strip and good on the street.. are the short throws ideal?

The 4 speed short throw is a mod on the shifter arm. You drill the linkage hole farther from the end.

The new Hursts aren't as nice as the old ones. It looks like the stamping dies are just tired. Also; B&M who owns Hurst firmly believes that all M22s came with TH400 outputs...this is NOT the case. Not only did M22s come with 10spline inputs at one point; you could also get an M20 in 1971-74 with a 32 spline output.

Thus; if you want to buy a NEW shifter; get a Long (brand) shifter; when you compare prices, don't forget to add in Hursts 'installation kit' to make it a fair comparison.

So there you have it; Old Hurst or New Long
