'40 chevy coupe glass for a chopped top

I hope this is in the right category.

I bought a '40 chevy coupe that has about a 4" chop. I have no glass, and the glass shop is telling me it has to be laminated to cut, and there's no guarantee that it will not break.

I don't want to be Lexan ,but that's the way I'm leaning.

Suggestions ?

The rear is tempered and can not be cut. I believe there is a place making laminated rear windows for them, I'll check in my favorites when I get home and post a link.

The glass company is basicly correct. I've seen it done but I've also seen where its taken a few broken pieces to get a good one. I've also seen the rear window out of an aerosedan used as it is alot smaller than on other chevy models. But since yours is done already you might be better to go with lexan. Good luck and Cheers.
