A 1940 L90 had a 430 rear a 1952 rocket 88 auto has a 340 rear I was told they would not exchange but in fact it fits perfect .My 40 is standard and stock it cruises at highway speed and I take it from Maine to Florida , New Mexico and she loves to stretch her legs total stock except for rear . She cruises comfortable at 75- 80 maintains speed with plenty more if ya need it.

My 49 had coils in the rear. later they went to 2 leaf suspension .. Most internals exchange until they went to the big housing I think my big housing is from a 57.
