40 Olds rear suspension/ track link

The 40 Olds came factory equipped with the "track link" suspension similar to what is used on late 60s Chevy pickups and Cup cars.

What is the first year that this suspension was used, and on what vehicles?

Thanks for all info.

40 olds rear suspension

My Olds referance book shows 39 was the first year for the Track Link with coil springs. I have a 39 and that is what is in my car. 1938 they where still using Leaf Springs in the rear.
