40 over 350 a bad thing?
I've heard that boring a 350 to .40 over makes less HP than .30 over. Can anyone explain or disprove this? I'm currently spending a lot of money on a 98 model 350 roller motor, vortec heads, new forged bottom end, the works. But my block that I bought, is .40 over. Thanks....

I couldn't see this unless you were running extremely high cylinder pressure which you want all the cylinder wall thickness you can. Otherwise a .040 over will make a smidgen more horse due to increased displacement and compression but I don't think you could feel the difference.
