You will have to drill the heads for a match of the steam holes of the 400 block other than that they will work as for running a .30 400 you will get a 406 the rod lenght will not change you displacement in the way of cubes although a 6" rod is a good idea you will have to notch the block for clearance ina few places but a good choise for increasing torque
