I HAVE WON 4 IN A ROW

I HAVE A 400 CHEVY BLOCK. 327 EAGLE CRANK. 6" OLIVER RODS.
4.250 BORE ROSS CUSTOM PISTONS. 369 C.I.
LAST YEAR I RAN A 400 BLOCK. 302 CRANK. 5.7 CARRILLO RODS.
4.155 BORE AIRES CUSTOM PISTONS. 325 C.I.
I TURNED BOTH OF THEM 8000 RPM. WITH A 600 GEAR.
I COULD OUT RUN ALL THE BIG MOTORS TACKY OR DRY. THE EXTRA RPM. AND THE LOWER GEAR WOULD SHOOT OFF THE CORNERS AND WING 8000 RPM DOWN THE STRAIGHTS.
THIS YEAR WHEN I PUT IN THE DESTROKED 400 WITH 327 CRANK
IT WAS SO FAST IT TURNED MY STOMACH. THAT WAS FASTER THAN ANY OTHER ENGINE AND THE FIRST TIME I FELT MY STOMACH TURN. ASK ME WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW I HAVE THE BEST ENGINE BUILDER AROUND. THAT'S MY OPINION.
I AM RUNNING A 626 LIFT 320 DURATION SOLID ROLLER CAM.
DART 230 CC HEADS 2.10 INTAKE 1.60 EXHAUST.

Joe, you are my kind of guy. You had an ideal, inspired by the parts laying around, built it and now enjoying the benefits. Sounds like the fun is overshadowing the efforts. Thanks for the feedback.

YOUR RIGHT

I LOVED IT LAST YEAR WITH MY 326 WHEN I WOULD WIN A RACE AND OTHER DRIVERS WOULD SAY "IF I HAD A BIG MOTOR LIKE YOU I WOULD BE FAST TOO." I WOULD JUST LAUGH BCAUSE I KNEW I HAD THE LEAST AMOUNT OF C.I. AT THE TRACK AND THE CHEVY 69 DZ 302 CRANK I HAD IN MY ENGINE WAS OLDER THAN ME AND HALF THE OTHER DRIVERS. I BUILD IT FOR A BACK UP FOR MY 412 BUT WHEN I PUT IT IN THE CAR WAS SO MUCH EASIER TO DRIVE. IT WILL WIND UP AND SHUT DOWN FAST SO YOUR IN THE GAS MORE THAN THE OTHER GUY. I MADE IT MY MAIN ENGINE AND THE 412 WAS MY BACK UP. FUNNY HOW MY DADS OLD CRANK,A SET OF PISTONS HE BOUGHT OFF EBAY, MY 400 BLOCK, AND 5.7 RODS MADE ONE HELL OF A POWERPLANT. YOU COULD CLOSE YOUR EYES AND STILL KNOW WHERE I WAS ON THE TRACK BECAUSE AT 8000 R.P.M. YOU CAN HEAR ME COMING AND GOING AND THE OTHER CARS SOME QUIT.

Thats cool Joe, you should tell them your running the smallest motor at the track, rub it in alittle. Just don't give them any specifics.

let it breath

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE LARGE HEADS AND BIG VALVES. LARGER HEADERS ARE GOOD TOO. I HAD A LOT OF GUYS TELL ME I NEEDED SMALL HEADS AND SMALLER HEADER TO GET MORE TORQUE. BUT YOU GET BETTER POWER WITH MORE R.P.M. DON'T WORRY ABOUT TORQUE JUST KEEP IT IN THE TREES. IT WILL BURN MORE GAS THAT YOUR 406 SO YOU MAY WANT TO FATTEN IT UP.

I see that none of these guys have posted anything in the last 6 months and some not in the last 4 years. I would be surprised if you got a response.
