400 sbc build looking for advice
 

I just recently purchased a 400/406 4 bolt block and plan on building it from the ground up. Im looking to get around 500-550 hp/tq on 93 octane. I would like to get all forged rotating assembly with roller cam roller rockers etc. A good flowing pair of heads. Not worried about intake and carb yet. Im looking to spend under or around $3000 for basically the long block. not including machine shop costs. What is the best forged rotating assembly, head and cam combo?

If by long block you only mean rotating assembly and heads then you may be able to get it done for 3000.00 but it won't be easy seeing as a forged rotating assembly is around 1700.00 but that would just about limit you to iron heads which will be about 950-1100.00 to your door. A decent we of alm heads will be in the 1500-1800.00 to your door.
