I agree but I would go for flat top pistons instead of dished. No need to give away compression. Pump gas will work close to/up to 11:1 cr. Especially if you go with aluminium heads.
A solid short block is always a good idea, but if your crank, flywheel, rods, etc etc are in good condition I wouldn´t bother converting to internal balance. Not for 350hp anyway.
