Hey guys,
This is my first time on the bulletin board. I am in NSW Australia, with a fully restored in every degree Chrysler Valiant sedan, hosting a 360 with a 4 speed.
In relation to the sbc v mopar - I actually have a lot of time for the sbc.
I love the mopar "tough" aspect...but to view engines, I believe they should be compared in standard trim...not after mods.
A mate of mine runs a 350 sbc in his 66 chev, it runs 3:55 rears, does a lot of highway running and it revs it's titties off with no problem. We have drives here where you can sit on 4000rpm for 8 hours @ a time. Having said that, I know mopar guys that do the same with no problems either.
Look at trucks? - 318 mopar V8's that here in Australia used to be punished by different drivers. They used to break too - but not until 100,000 or 200,000 tough miles. Anyway - enough said for now. Cheers guys.
Fletch.
