403 olds serging, not runing smooth

i have a 403 with a 650 holley 4bl and can`t get it to run smooth. but it only does it sometimes. it sounds like spark is being cut off and on. and it does it above idle and sometimes stalls out when driving even if im on the gas. sometimes if i fether it it will pick back up. tryed new carb but only helped a little. also its a new engine with only 650mi. on it and only started to happen at 625mi. i have a edel. proformer rpm intake and cam kit. with hooker pro comp. headers and new stock fuelpump and filter. also stock heads (for now) and pistons. john. ps its in a 79 ta . thanks

I would check the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, etc, etc. You can check for spark leakage from the wires. Also, check the filter, it may be plugged up.

Why the holley lord? WHY?

Anyway... Replace the fuel filter, I know it sounds small and stupid, but try it.
