406 vs, 327

How much seat of the pants difference can I expect from a similar built 406 over my 327 ?

If both motors are built equally the higher cubed motor will always give a seat of the pants differnce. More cubes equal more torque. Id pick a bigger motor any day

If it was built the same. A 327 will produce 300 - 350 ft lbs of torque. A 406 can go as high 500 - 600 ft lbs of torque. In other another word sustain horsepower where a 327 horsepower will drop once the torque is reached. It is like a 12 volt Battery. A car battery Vs 8 D cell batteries connected in series. Who is going to deliver the amperage to run a starter in a car.

Oh your in for a real nice surprise. Your gonna feel the difference 75 more cubic inches makes.

"Seat of the pants difference" it would be something like Tinker Bell vs. Dick Butkus. I love the little chevy but would run a 406 any day if real power was needed.

I have both engines 406 bigggggg difference

i've had both. the 406 will make a bunch more torque, but i still prefer the 327. the 327 was a rocket after it got above 4,500 rpm. the 406 would be easier on parts.
