408 windsor

I am thinking about a 408 stroker in my 64 comet . I wanted to use Robert Yates wedge heads and a wieand tunnel ram. A top a short block. Any suggestions for a good short block I have looked at CHP and DSS but there are expensive.

Sounds like a full on race application in which case I'd start with either a new Ford 4 bolt main block or a Dart.

I'll tell you now though, building hp costs $$$. If the prices at CHP & DSS give you pause, maybe you should re-think your plan.

Anything under 800hp you will be more then fine with a 69 windsor block. Im not sure what you plan on doing with the motor but those heads are more of a circle track head. If you plan on street or 1/4mile there are much better and cheaper heads to go with then those.

351 in comet

just finished a swap like this last yr. some of the other things you need to think about are, headers. crites in ohio has them and they fit well bet are over 400 so you might want to re think your plan and go with a 302. personally i perfer the 351. speed cost money , how fast do you want to go?
