409 Block with a cracked Water Jacket

I have a 62 Impala SS and am looking at buying a 409 block with the crank and all the pistons. However the block has a crack in the water jacket that has been repaired in a shop (according to the seller) no records of it. To quote the guy "water jacket crack has been properly repaired by furnace brazing" he only wants $995 dollars for the block and all the bottom end. It has been bored over .030 as well and I am told that it is ready for a rebuild. But before I plunk down the money I want to get your opinions on the crack in the water jacket (I am not a expert in machine work). If I bought the block I would take it to my local machine shop and have it gone over to make sure it was sound. Just looking for opinions on buying this block. They are getting hard to find. Thanks for any help.

sounds ok, 409 blocks are getting rare,if it was brazed properly it should nbe ok, if not for the price you could have it stitched at just about any good machine shop.
