4200 LL8 Vortec swap

Anybody doing the inline 6 Vortec swap here yet? I have been slowly getting my Nova together with this engine, just wondering if there is anybody else doing it? Been a while since I looked around for info on this, is there any companies building after market parts for it yet, a sollution to run a standard trans? I'm just getting a oilpan built to replace this nightmare they produced from the factory and having the wiring harness thinned out. Any help for this swap would be cool, I'm sure this swap will catch on one day!

Yeah I agree it should be a cool setup, different for sure. Once we get it up and running I plan to get a ;pw boost turbo on it and start making some power. I am Chevy through and through but even I'm getting tired of small blocks in everything, as I repower my s10 with another small block!

I've been considering this engine for a swap for a while now. One source for info and parts is here:

index

There is a rear sump oil pan available to simplify swaps, as well as a bellhousing adapter plate to convert to a traditional GM trans. The factory bellhousing bolts to a 4L60E/4L65E (the newer versions with the bolt-on bellhousings). That site also has a forum with some good info and contacts.

I've seen the Nova swap before, but I can't remember where. Here's one in a first-gen F-body:

Horsepower! - 470HP Turbocharged 4200 GM Vortec Inline-Six Engine - Car Craft Magazine

Here's a trans adapter:

I saw a Nova wagon I believe it was a twin turbo as well, but he has since went sbc. Where are you finding the parts to run a manual? I have never read about that yet

The first link I posted has info on a manual trans flywheel. The third link has info on the bellhousing adapter.
