426 Cuda dream car

Went to a place near me called Fastlane Auto for the first time last weekend. While I was checking out all the cool cars they have, a black Cuda fender caught my eye. I walked a few more steps and a shaker scoop came into view. I thought "Naw, it cain't be". But it was. There it sat. The object of my right foot's lust since I was about 11 years old. I could never find, much less afford one.
It truly is a nice car, but they want to much for something I'd want to thrash on the streets. Maybe after I tire of my present rod, I'll build me a clone.

I know, even cloning one would be high dollar.
In 1979, I bought a "71 Challenger for 150 bucks. It was sittin in this guys backyard, four flats and a dead battery. When I got home and did some tinkering, I found out the only thing wrong with it was a bad ballast resister. I drove it for six months, turned around and sold it for 500 bucks. It only had a 318 in it, but still... (we need a boot in the butt smiley). Times were different then. Muscle cars were dime a dozen and nobody ever thought they'd be worth anything. At least I didn't (another boot in the butt smiley).

Yep they've sure gone crazy and in a relatively short time , it was only around 1984/85 a buddy of mine had a 70 Hemi RT Challenger and I remember him having the devils own job trying to get 5,000 (approx $10,000 then) for it , he also had a #'s matching 425/427 4 speed 66 Impala that he sold for around the same price

But if it makes you Mopar guys feel any better - a top notch restored 69 ZL-1 Camaro is probably up around $200,000 or more now .

................now if only them scientists would stop wastin' all that money on sendin' probes to Mars and concentrate on a time machine .

That was round the time Carlos Monteverdi started collecting them wasn't it? Last count he had around 11 Hemi cars...and some ultra rare Ferrari race car, that he races at Goodwood

If I had $135,000 laying around, I'd buy the car, and share it with Busted Knuckles since he found the car.

I appreciate that Carbed95GT! When I left that place, I went and bought me some lottery tickets. Something I hardly ever do. But alas, I guess its still just gonna be my dream car.
Then A32flathead goes and shows me my second choice in dream cars, the Boss 429 Mustang. Is there no justice!?!
Guess my third choice would be the Yenko 427 Camaro.
I dunno, I'd be happy with any pony car with a hipo bigblock and a four speed.
