427 build plan

I am thinking about rebuilding my tall deck 427. Right now it is stock and in a 85 chevy 4x4 w/ 38's and 4.10 gears. This is what I'm thinking of
Stock forged crank
6.535 rods
Brodix Race rite heads 271cc oval 119 combustion chamber.
Comp magnum 230/230 @.05 .520 lift
weiand teamg 7528 tall deck intake
Holley 4604 1050 vacuum secondary
Does tthis sound like it whould work for my truck? It is more for playing than driviing.

It sounds good to me, I would consider the performer RPM though. I think it will match your parts a little better.

pick an RPM band and stick with it. The majority of your parts look ideal for a little higher RPM range than your cam would like. I would keep the rest and just find a different cam grind. Something dual pattern with about another 10 degrees duration on the intake.

Big block Chevies tend to like split pattern cams, but with more exhaust duration. General Kinetics showed the Chevy guys this fact way back...
