427 tall deck truck motor

does any one know of what type of distributor i can use for this tall deck block...can i use a regular distributor with a longer gear drive or does it have to be a tall deck one

also can i use a regular intake manifold or does it need spacers with this block

You have to have one with a slip collar..I cut my dist and made a slip collar for mine.

They make a nice intake for the tall deck motors..

If you use a "regular" manifold. Yes , you will need intake spacers. If you use spacers, you will need to have the manifold modified for a standard height distrib. Or use a distrib with a "slip ring" adjustable height. Available from MSD and other aftermkt. suppliers.

looks like normal Chevy distrib. The collar that holds the distrib to the intake is actually a slip ring with an allen screw in it. Allows adjustment up and down.
