Why change the crank? The stock one is plenty strong for most anything you will run on the street.

I'd look at frame connectors since the uni-body CAN twist if you install big rubber and can get it to hook up... seen it many times.

Big blocks came stock in '68 Darts so it will fit... heed the previous advise on the V8 K- member... it's pretty much a bolt-on deal.
