440 mopar question

A friend has a 1970 440 6 pack charger. He is leaking water around the rear exhaust bolt on the passenger side. Do the exhaust bolts go into the water jacket on this motor? I told him to get some sealer and seal the bolt the way you would do a head bolt on a chevy. It has the stock heads.

The manifold studs go into the water jackets on the heads. You can seal the studs I did it on my 440. I would check the area for cracks , it is not common but possable. Good luck.

Alot of the time on new engines with a dripping exhaust stud the drip just slowly stops, it seals itself.
