450 HP LT4/383 + late style axle = ???

I am wondering if a late style axle would happily cohabitate? Or would the relationship end abruptly, in an ugly divorce?

I have had this '67' Firebird convertible for 26 yrs now. She's tired but pretty. I am installing a fuel inj. etc. etc.. modified tranny ( tight but not hard).

This will be strictly for street use. I may hammer on it occasionally, well........maybe more than that, But I won't be abusive or hard on it. Well......occasionally I may stretch it out. (This will sound nuts) I want to take the 12 bolt posi out of my '67' Firebird conv. I am updating the drive train with modified '96' corvette (mtr/ trans), that the late style axle would connect to via torque arm and at a greatly reduced weight. I also have the factory cast Iron traction bars/links that came with this.

I bet I could get a pretty good buck for the package.

It is heavy duty!! I ain't pullin wheelies on da track.

Suggestions, judgements, drug prescriptions, Insults?.......let me know.
