I had a 66 nova with a 454 in it. It will fit but the car frame won't like it. Too much weight and we had to cut the inner fender panels to get the headers in. This really weakened the car alot. Ended up having to put sub frame connectors in it and a full cage to keep it all together.

I'd leave the 350 in place. If you can afford the buy the two 454's, I'd buy them and squirrel them away for another project.

I LOVE big block Chevys!!! ...BUT if this ChevyII is for the street, then stick to a small block. Yes you can stick in a big block, but it's going to be real tight, and maintenance will be a real pain ...having to fight the tight conditions. There is a ton more perf. stuff for small blocks and cost is better too. If this was a full blown race car, then I'd say stick with the 454 ...but street/in a ChevyII ...stick with a small block! My $0.02 anyway, Good Luck!

The 350 is better for your needs as is...but if you want to start building power and were going to put money into an engine, I would go with the 454. You will love the torque when playing around on the street.

Just my opinion though....
