If you are towing like that then you probably need a diesel. Or I would strongly suggest the 496, the cost difference between the two would only be around 150-250.00 and you will likely get about 10% more tq out of the 496. It wouldn't be hard at all to get 575-600 tq out of a darn near stock 496.

and it also really matters what stock he means, that can be anywhere from 250hp-450hp.

for the 250hp version he would be better off redoing the top end of the factory 350.
