3rd gen f bodies are not a very strong base to start from, you will need subframe connectors and a cage and it still won't be strong enough for a big block.the rears are made for vegas and if it has t tops forget about it...but this is not to say it can't be done, I wouldn't concider it myself, in fact I have an 86 Trans Am I started to build ,but after several inbred design flaws I quit and decided these cars are crap and I wouldn't waste my time and money on GMs very poor excuse for a performance car. When they announced they would stop building them I was relieved that the miserable 3rd and 4th generation would no longer tarnish the reputation of earlier years I 'm sorry but I just think 3 and 4s are absolute junk
