454 for a b body

Hey everybody, i have a dilemma.

I have recently bought a extremely low miles 454 bbc chevy to go into my impala wagon.

I cannot decide what to do with it. If i put it in like it is now i am afraid that the results will be disappointing power-wise. since i do not want to be switching motors every week i want this motor to be satisfying.
this motor came out of an rv motor-home, it has 346236 heads with i believe 120cc chambers. probably somewhere between 7.5-8 compression ratio. with this cr i probably cannot put in a decent cam...or do i?

since this motor is going into my heavy 79 impala wagon with 2.73 rear end and stock convertor; it needs to have some low end torque. It doesn't have to be a 10 second racer. just fast street performance.

what do you guys recommend? taking it apart and upping the cr and cammin it ?
or putting it in like it is?

thanks, everybody help is really appreciated.

Martijn.

Personally, I would look for some better heads and cam...It needs to breathe better . In an RV, it gives plenty of pulling power, but at low RPMs.....

Thanks for the fast rep!

I live in holland, and bbc parts are hard to find here, so if there is a way to use the heads i have on it lets hear it what cams do you suggest? i found out that the comp cams 260h cam can be run with stock valvetrain components. do you think that cam would make a decent upgrade with my stock heads ?

thanks!
