The new thing for power is a belt drive. I prefer the old regular timing chain myself.Timing chains are easier to deal with if you want to advance or retard the cam,Vs a gear drive. some people like the gear drive noise.

This is a great read! answered a few questions I've had. And since we're on the topic of blowers etc. and I'm building a 454 myself I'll ask a couple here instead of making a new thread.

-What is the highest CR you could have and still use a blower or procharger?
-If I built a mild "lower compression" engine, could I just intall a procharger down the road without changing much? what would need changed.

depends on the fuel tou use too
maybe make a thread including what you want
