454 build hp???

hey everyone.
im building a 454 right now and would like to know what you guys think.. i havent bought the parts but im ready to buy them..
i was gonna go with
aluminum heads 2.25 in 1.88ex 320cc 115cc
lunati voodoo solid roller. 655" 663" duration @50 242 249.. lobe sep 110
roller rockers RPM air gap and a holley 850dp.. 3000 stall headers 456 gears. just looking to make a nice street/strip motor with lots of horsepower.. hoping to make it a 12 sec truck... ANY IDEAS! and what would be a good guesstimate of my horsepower with this build..
thanks
brandon

Sounds decent, does seem like a lot of gear. What tires an tranny are you thinking about? What compression? You should not come up short with the heads specs you mentioned. Thats alot of flow.

Staying with the stock bore? Looks like a 15cc dome will yield abut 9.5, with zero deck. Is that the piston you're looking at?

that cam will work best with 4.11's and 28 inch tall tires, 10:1 cr and a single plane intake (victor jr.)

how heavy is the truck?

Truck weighs 3900lbs ? You sure.

Other than $2-3k , 4 pad scale systems, how do you weigh your car acturately. Answer , take it to the yard waste landfill. they have a full size scale you pull the vehicle onto takes weight . Then compares it to the empty vehicle weight and charges for the trash dump.

Good comments.

okay i just got that motor torn down.. like i said bought it from a guy who said it was just rebuild and everything was new... well he was telling the truth i you can tell its all brand new.. but i looked up the pistons they are actually 20 over speed pro pistons flat tops with 2 valve reliefs. part # h661cp... are these pistons any good??? i really cant afford to change the pistons along with the aluminum heads and solid roller swap... let me know what you guys think

hard to build compression with those pistons.

low 8's with your current setup.

942cc for the cylinder
115cc for the head
9cc for the head gasket
4cc for the deck (assuming 0.020" below deck)
3cc for the piston reliefs

(942 + 115 + 9 + 4 + 3)/ (115 + 9 + 4 + 3)= (942 + 131)/ 131= 8.19:1 cr

you need 10:1 for that cam.

change pistons or add boost.
