454 build Summit bought parts dyno'd

Ok Gang lets try this again. This 454 .30 0ver engine will be going on dyno this week. I just bought the car and this is the engine it came with and the information on what is in the engine was provided by previous owner. it is a fresh build with less than 300 miles. All parts I list were purchased at Summit and total about $2110.20 USD . The car is a 1969 Nova with a 3:73 gear turbo 350 11" 3200 stall but more like 4000, very loose. The engine is not fully tuned yet but it's not bad (but what do I know). I have been driving it for a couple of days and if I could get a little more out of it I might be satisfied. It's just for fun. I won't be taking it to the track but I will get on it every now and then.Mostly used for running around town and short hwy trips (runs 3000rpm @ at 60mph) 100-150 miles per week . At this point It runs fairly good but it is obvious that there is more available so we'll see how much in the before and after dyno numbers. I don't have engine block or cast head casting numbers yet but i would say oval port heads cc may or may not be worked. Headman ceramic coated headders, mechanical fuel pump (Holly about $100) I will post the dyno numbers next week. If I missed anything its been a long day. I will be calling the original engine shop/builder on Wed. to try and get more information.if you need more info just ask in a post. If this post helps anyone then my time well spent if not then it's just another example of me thinking I know whats going on. Please feel free to do a little reasearch on Summits web site for all the specs. then take your best guess on dyno numbers for Forum bragging rights if you want. This is not enough info to really zero in on.

I think your pistons (flat/slight dish) have you at about 8.7:1 compression at best with the closed chamber heads (109cc).[Unless someone cleverly milled the heads to reduce the chamber volumes - but even that wouldn't get you past 9:1 compression] Compression would be much less if you have open chamber heads (cast 049:115-118cc or cast 049:122cc)

Without looking up the cam specs, most high lift cams will have too much duration, so you are limited on high rpm horsepower; which also means you are not going to match up well with the victor intake.

I'm going to guess that you are at about 280hp. The good news is you should still pull some pretty good torque numbers, lets say around 350lbft.
