454 engine to 700R transmission
I have a 1972 Chevrolet 454 engine and want to know if they make a flexplate to bolt it to a 700R transmission? I have bought one from O'Reilly's and it does not fit. The one from the 350 transmission will not work. Help.
you'll have to know what your converter bolt pattern is..
10.750 or 11.500..
a tci converter for a 7004r has the 10.750 pattern.. TCI makes both bolt pattern..
summit/jegs/etc sell them..
tci"s part #399473 looks like it's set up for both
Some 454 plates had 6 bolt holes in smae location, some had dual pattern spacing on bolt holes for converters
Your local transmission shop may have one in-stock or can order it. it's about 30bucks.
I bought mine from autozone after talking with there tech support..
