454 headers, which ones

I have a gen 5 454 going in a 65 impala, I want to put headers on it, it has the factory exhaust manifold now, they sort of look like headers. anyway, if I do a search on summit, it gives truck headers. Will 396 headers for 65 work on this 454?

Try the 270 phone number here for Holley Tech. They make swap headers for '64 Big Block, but I don't see the '65 listed. Call 'em up or fill out the email request...

the 396 has the same bolt pattern as the 454.

are you using the gen V exhaust manifolds?. If so, those are nice.

here is a manifold link page. Which ones do you have now? Is your engine stock?

I have the ones on the left, but hey have some sort of 'flex' in the middle. I was told if I just go with these, it will give me good low end torque, but it's already a peanut port, i have 4 11 gears in a 700 r4, not sure just home low end torque I need, but the car is heavy, what do you think? go with these ones?

headers have more of a midrange effect on torque with stock to mild engines.

The more "non-stock" the engine is, the more headers help.

With a stock cam and peanut heads, headers will not help that much. They do sound like more hp.
