Was looking for recommendations from you guys about a good cam (a good durable cam), carb (prefer holley vaccuum secondary), and intake combo for my 454. I am going to use the 781 oval port heads that I just purchased and would like to see this motor come alive from between 2000-6000 to 6500 RPM.

Really open to any and all suggestions. This vehicle will mainly be on the street, but I would like it to flat get after it at the track as well. The weight of the vehicle will end up being between 2400-2800 pounds I'm guessing and I will end up running 3.70 - 4.11 gears and between a 2200-3000 stall.

im going to have almost the same set up
ive been really working on which cam
and was hoping to see some more post on this (from the voices of experiece)
my is, about 3000lb. and 3:27 gears but also same stall,turbo 400, 9-9.5 comp

Im planning on about the same thing with my 454. Im going with around 10:1 comp, performer RPM air gap intake, and im not sure about the cam yet either, maybe a performer RPM also. Edelbrock 750 carb. Mine will be in a 79 C10, im guessing 4500#? 3.07 gears for now but thinking about changing to 3.73 or 4.10.
